Overview
We delivered solar PV canopies at Cambridgeshire County Council's headquarters on the site of a former RAF airfield. Designed to generate renewable energy for electric vehicle charging and support the new office development's base electrical demand, the project formed part of a flagship scheme targeting an Excellent BREEAM rating.
The Challenge
The renewable energy solution needed to complement the architectural design of the new office development while integrating with the surrounding landscape. Achieving this without compromising performance or functionality was a key project requirement.
Our Solution
Each canopy was designed as an independent PV system, supplying renewable electricity directly to its associated electric vehicle charging points. This approach provided an integrated solution combining renewable generation with on-site EV charging.
The Approach
We delivered the complete design and installation package, working closely with the main contractor and engineering team to complete the project on programme and within budget.
